Maricahi Tradicional Juvenil

About Us
Formed in 2016, Mariachi Tradicional Juvenil ensemble came together on the streets of Chicago’s rapidly changing neighborhoods of Little Village and Brighton Park, where working immigrant communities co-exist with over 4,000 shootings at least per year.
It came to our attention that the streets and neighborhoods of Chicago have become a dangerous place to raise our next generation of professionals, leaders, and dreamers. And that we, as a community...
Who We Are?
Mariachi Tradición Juvenil is an ensemble of 11 members — two teachers and nine children between the ages of 10 and 16 — with the goal to cultivate and share the art, culture, and tradition of mariachi music. MTJ is the first group of young Mariachis belonging to Mariachi Arts & Culture Academy, Inc.
Mariachi Arts & Culture Academy, Inc. was established to
cultivate and instill in the future generations the Art and Culture of Mariachi Music. MACA aims to provide opportunities for the youth to carry on Mexico's Folk Music by reaching out to different cultural and socioeconomic communities in the Chicago area. Our main goal to cultivate the love and importance Mariachi Music plays as a tradition in our Mexican Culture.
